One important branch of sports medicine is the sports nutrition. Actually, sport’s nutrition is applied in sports training in general, however it is most dominant in endurance sports such as cycling, running and triathlon. It is also given emphasis in power sports like weight lifting and bodybuilding. Sports nutrition is divided into two major categories: The anaerobic and aerobic sports nutrition. Sports nutrition has 3 major goals: for pre-training to prepare the athlete for performance, intra-training to maintain the athletes level of performance and for post-training to help in the recovery after the said performance.
