Blind 85-year-old golfer made a hole-in-one!

Robert Dunham, an Arizona-based legally blind golfer made a hole-in-one on a par-3-course at Tortuga in Green Valley. Can you believe it? Dunham was apparently playing with fellow blind golfer-veterans enrolled at Veterans Affairs health care system program when his volunteer assistant hand him a 9-iron golf club. Dunham stepped back a bit, swung his arms, hit the ball squarely as it softly landed on the green grass laden field. The ball hopped once before it finally nestled at the bottom of the cup. The group of blind men and volunteers cheered loudly as they held their hands for high fives. At first, Dunham felt the group was just teasing him and eventually exclaimed “You guys better not be pulling my leg.”. But the reality sank in when the group continued their cheers for the old Arizona golfer. The retired veteran gradually lost his sight 10 years ago yet was only three weeks old in the program. This is the best example of seeing not by sight but by vision. I guess this story is a slap on the face for many of us who always wait to see before believing. Faith really comes in different hues.

Now this is a good story :-) You may never know how sharp can your other senses be after you lose one. Or it was only luck?
