Charlton Heston of the Ten Commandments died at 84
By bluepanjeet on Apr 7, 2008 in World Over

At age 84, Hollywood’s original Moses died at his Beverly Hills Estate battling Alzheimer’s Disease last Saturday (April 5). Evanston Heston III who played Moses in the “Ten Commandments“, The chariot-riding Prince in “Ben-Hur“, and the only man left on earth in “Planet of the Apes” was born October 4th, 1923. He was nominated and won at the Oscars for his epic movie “Ben-Hur” as Best Actor and has made countless movies and TV appearances during his lifetime. I grew up with the ten commandments because we had a tape of the movie at home. We watch it every year during lent. Ten Commandments was one of the greatest movies I’ve seen and no epic movie, even the Lord of the rings has matched the glorious set of the film. Now he has died, Hollywood will surely miss this kingly actor who, even behind the camera, has lived up to its name as the one who emits respect and majesty in his persona. “So let it be written, so let it be done!”.

Bluep, I remember wathcing the 10 commandments in a small movie house in Baguio. May intermission pa nga dahil sa haba ng sine.
It is so sad that a Hollywood legend like Heston has passed away.

Ah yes. Here in our province it is also shown every Holy Week on local tv. I felt really sad because the guy is a very good actor. Last time I saw him on tv was when he guested on “Friends”
