Kotsengkuba won’t let me sleep with his 3longdistance calls

At Three o’clock in the morning, in the middle of my snoring festival, my phone rang on my side table. I was about to pull the plug and head back to sleep when I realized that it could be one of our relatives abroad. So with a bedroom voice and irked tone I said “Hello?”

“Bluepanjeeeeeeeeeeeet pare” shouted the voice on the other line.

I asked who he was and he answered back, “it’s me your blog friend”.

“Why are you calling in the middle of the night err dawn pala? Don’t you have work?”

“well it’s Sunday here remember?” he said.

“So what’s this all about?”

“Wow, so grumpy! Are you not happy that I called?”

“Well I would be if you called when everyone in the Philippines is already awake! So why again did you call? Is there another dating emergency that you wanted to seek help for or you were dumped again by one of your concubines?”

“Nothing I just wanted to waste my call”.

I was stupefied. “What?”

“You see, calling here in the US is very expensive, but since I am a student, I availed a promo called International calls for students wherein I can call anywhere in the world. Like for example I can call Columbia for only 8 cents per minute, I can call Haiti for only 21 cents, and I can call Jamaica for only 4 cents”.

“So did you?”

“Of course galloping horse! With this kind of service to call Haiti, who would not avail this promo?”

“How on earth were you able to have known people in the Caribbean and in South America? You can’t even locate those countries in the map”

“Who told you? I dialed the numbers randomly out of my bingo pucks and befriended the first chica-babes who answered my call. Isn’t that cool? Now I have a date in Columbia, Haiti and Jamaica”

“You’re crazy! Call me in the morning when you are not drunk!”

Then I hanged up, pulled the plug of the unit, and dozed off. 2 minutes later, my cell phone rang.

“Bluepanjeeeeeeeeeettt”

I stood up, walked towards the back door of my room, went outside and threw my cell on the rice field.

“There! Now I can have a peaceful sleep”
