PHILIPPINE’S TUBBATAHA REEF bids for the SEVEN WONDERS of the NATURAL WORLD

Tubbataha reef is considered by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in its World Heritage List. The reef is found in the outskirts of Palawan in the Sulu sea and coveres 32,000 ha of protected zone. It is one of the World’s atoll reefs that is very dense with marine species and is known for it’s biodiversity. The north Islet of the Tubbataha reef is the nesting site of thousands of birds and sea turtles. With its perpendicular 100 meter wall, extensive lagoons and two coral islands, the Tubbataha reef is famed as an excellent example of pristine coral reef in the world. Because of its beauty, the reef is now nominated as one of the Seven wonders of the natural world and is ranking 26th in the latest tally. I am urging all Filipinos to not only conserve Tubbataha and other 439 protected marine parks in the country, but also vote for its bid as the seven wonders of the natural world so that it would serve as an awareness to all people that our eco-system and our environment is in dire need of preservation. Below are the some of the wonders of Tubbataha that were shot by famous photographers.
