Visita Iglesia 2008

Every Holy Thursday, the last consecration of the bread and wine is held in transubstantiating it to the Body and Blood of Christ. It means that before Easter Sunday, no consecration of the Eucharist is done to commemorate the death of Jesus on the cross. This is the reason why every Maundy Thursday, all of the chapels and churches all over the world exposes the Blessed Sacrament to the public for adoration. This is the essence of the Visita Iglesia. We go from churches to churches to adore the Blessed Sacrament and not to visit the church structure itself. And since I still haven’t bought my own Digicam (as I was planning to buy it later), I just searched the country for the most beautiful and jaw dropping Blessed Sacrament arrangement all over the churches of the Philippines. These adoration chapels are so serene and makes you want to go and pray before it. See it for yourself.

these adorations chapels are really beautiful. thanks for sharing the photos! lalo tuloy akong na-home sick. :( i’ve been feeling a little homesick the entire day. i miss the solemn observance of the Holy Week in the philippines. but i did feel so much better after i attended the 7pm mass in church today (thursday here). i guess it helped to be among fellow catholics who give importance to these holy days.
