Pacquiao won over Marquez after four years: the first Asian to win in 3 different boxing divisions

(March 16, 2008 12:30 PM Philippine Time) Via satellite TV, Manny Pacquiao, the greatest Filipino boxing warrior won against Juan Manuel Marquez over a split decision today at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. It was a close fight between the two champions. Marquez was obviously aggressive against Pacquiao maintaining his distance then attacking with his 5 inch advantage over Manny. Pacquiao on the other hand counter attacked the blows of the Mexican dynamite with a surprise left punch that brought Marquez to the ground and the last attempt to knockout Marquez in the last round may have been the cause of Manny’s Victory. It was really a surprise decision because everybody thought, even the anchors, that Marquez bagged the crown. But as usual, with all the head batting that Marquez did in some of the rounds, it may have been deducted from his score.

I’m not really into boxing because I think it’s very barbaric, but I’m glad Pacquiao won! :D
