My life as a book

It has been a long while since I posted a meme and I think everybody has been saturated by this in the past. But for the sake of variation of entries and of course my love to answer questions (as if I am interviewed by a talk show host), I would do this tag. Now Nika of Sandok at Palayok.Com has tapped me to answer this question:

“If your life was turned into a book, what would its title be?”

Well as insignificant as my life seem to be for you my readers, I think it will be titled, “Rome Sweet Home” by Scott and Kimberly Hahn and “Late Have I Loved Thee” by St. Augustine of Hippo.

The first book is about the journey of two well-known and very popular Catholic couple, Scott and Kimberly Hahn. They have been constantly traveling and speaking all over North America for the last few years about their conversion to the Catholic Church. Now these two outstanding Catholic apologists tell in their own words about the incredible spiritual journey that led them to embrace Catholicism. Scott Hahn was a Presbyterian minister, the top student in his seminary class, a brilliant Scripture scholar, and militantly anti-Catholic … until he reluctantly began to discover that his “enemy” had all the right answers. Kimberly, also a top-notch theology student in the seminary, is the daughter of a well-known Protestant minister, and went through a tremendous “dark night of the soul” after Scott converted to Catholicism.

While the second book Late Have I Loved Thee is the first collection of Saint Augustine’s varied writings on human and divine love, chosen to reflect his lifelong preoccupation with ordo amoris, the principle of rightly directed love. “My weight is my love,” he writes in The Confessions. He sees our ability to love as disordered by sin, so that we often choose badly what and how to love. Only by recognizing that we are commanded to love God first can any other object of our love be properly ordered, Late Have I Loved Thee draws on the riches found in Augustine’s sermons, letters, treatises, and Scripture commentaries, as well as passages from The Confessions and City of God.

I was born and raised as a Catholic, but was never intimate with the religion, until like Kimberly and Scott Hahn and St. Augustine of Hippo, I was converted to the Catholic religion by way of active participation. My life as a sinner has been an open book to all my friends and loved ones, and the spiritual conversion that I had gives testimony of the truths of God:

1. That He is indeed love
2. and that He continues to seek even the sinners to come home to him in his mercy.

Life is indeed mysterious, at least on my part, that it has the ability to melt even the hardest of all hearts, just to bring me back to the Creator I often ridicule and reject in times that I thought I do not need him. My conversion does not end there on the faithful day of September 17, 1994. It is a continuous process of choosing God above all else that hinders our way of serving, knowing and loving him.

Now I will tag Kotseng Kuba, Malen, Ambo, Melai, Reynz, maigi ring pang in between hahaha.

    Amen to that.

I am a very Catholic but not too spiritual, I think. I’d just felt better attending Sunday mass and everything seems perfect to me.

I guess if we stop for a few seconds of prayers is enough for me to be so close with Him up there.

    How do you pray?

Ako kuya K, I just pray as if God is my friend. Minsan inaaway ko, minsan piniplease ko, minsan naman sinusuyo ko. very personal. though sometimes I pray with the traditional formula like the rosary and the Glory Be’s, but i also make sure that I talk to him in a very personal and intimate level.
