In a historical match that will bring goosebumps to all UAAP Basketball fanatics like me, the Ateneo Blue Eagles and the La Salle Green Archers will have an exhibition game at the Big Dome on March 16, 2007. The said event coined as, “La Salle at Ateneo: Magkasangga Para sa Katotohanan” will be a once in a lifetime sporting event that will tore down the walls between the long time rivalry of these two Universities. It is said on the press release that these two cradle of learning, for the first time, will play along each other side by side. There will be Ateneo players on the other side mixed with La Salle cagers and vice versa. Coach Franz Pumaren of the La Salle Archers will coach the first team while Coach Norman Black of the Ateneo Eagles will coach the other. The Jerseys of both teams will also be swapped between the players. As of blog time, the respective pep squads of each schools have also joined forces and are now learning the cheers and chants of both camps. The Kulasas (St. Scho) and the Tomasians (Lozada’s Alma Mater) will also have a participation in the half time break. Tickets are available as P50 for general admission and P350 for patron seats. The proceeds will go to the “sanctuary fund” which was put up by the Association of Major Religious Superiors of the Philippines for Lozada’s legal expenses. We could recall the Jun Lozada has been bombarded by Malacanang with various suits after his testimony. By far, the fund has reached a whopping P1.9 Million. If you are from Greater Manila Area, I suggest that you don’t miss this surefire historic event. Nakapanood ka na ng Laro, nakiisa ka pa para sa katotohanan!

i just want to inform you that the game is again rescheduled tentative march 29, lets just wait for the official announcement from both camps..
also, id like to clear some points on the advertisement.. the basketball game would be for the benefit of the amrsp sanctuary fund, goal of which is to support witnesses who have and will testify on senate/SC hearings and a way to call out to them to speak the truth on political/national issues..it is a financial aid for their legal expenses and protection.. it doesnt necessarily mean that it will go to jun lozada (i guess it just seemed that way because he is the reason why the sanctuary fund was put up in the first place…)In terms of legal expenses, he wouldnt ask for financial assistance because all his lawyers offered to represent him for free na,.. he would just grace the event primarily because he supports the cause.. and he embodies a person’s courage to stand up for the truth..

Wow, I wish I could be there. I miss the UAAP games. Obviously I only watched games between us and the Blue Eggless, I mean Eagles.
