Land Of Liars

hen I was little, my mom and dad would always remind me of the evil of lying. They did not bring us up, their children, comfortable in lying. There are advantages and disadvantage of lying alright, yet it would still not change the fact that it is lying. Lies do not make a blackboard white.
The recent glorietta bombing has an ambiguous investigation. Actually the odd thing about the incident is that, the result of the investigation is more enigmatic than the actual blast itself. The PNP investigators claimed it was an accident coming from the mall’s basement due to the mixture of high flammable substances, diesel and RDX included. However, common sense dictates that if it were indeed a blast coming from flammable substances, why are there no flames? Bakit nga kaya? (Why is it exactly?) Himala? (Miracle?). Then some unidentified military investigators tried to plant a false evidence that was caught red handed by the PNP. To make the matter worse for the proponents of the “accident theory”, Ayala Land (owner of the Glorietta) said that the investigation is not acceptable since their facilities are highly maintained and are leak free. Two UP (University of the Philippines) Chemical Engineers who said that blast of that magnitude couldn’t be the result of a Diesel and RDX combustion seconded this. The PNP investigators has no capacity to investigate scientifically this kind of disaster of such significance, much more, they don’t have the ability to twist the intelligence of the People. Such a bunch of liars.
Erap has been given the “Presidential Pardon” that was not sought by his camp, but by the Arroyo administration. How can one have a pardon if he himself is not seeking it in the first place? You cannot forgive someone who is not asking for forgiveness. Bottom-line is this was a stage show. The pardon is given for the sole purpose of establishing a point of demarcation that President Gloria’s presidency is indeed legitimate and that of Erap’s resignation. After all the trouble that the witnesses, the people behind the ousting and the different organizations who gather evidences against Estrada, not to mention the millions of pesos spent in this 6 year trial, will all just come to waste by giving Erap the Presidential pardon. It is another stage of dishonesty. Such a bunch of liars. Starting from the President down to her cohorts.
The league of Governors have published a whole page add stating that the money given to Governors were just an aid for the newbies. But Among Ed Panlilio (The Priest turned Governor and whistle blower) did not bought the excuse. If you were an intelligent person, you too wouldn’t buy the crap of this Trapos (Traditional Politicians) on the League: 1) why cash? Any official government transaction or bonuses are not given in outright cash less it would really look like a dirty money or a form of bribery. As far as I know, aids and assistance does not come in the form of money inside paper bags, but in form of projects with proper documents. 2) Why be given without proper notice? Will you give a half a million pesos to someone without telling him where it came from, and what is it for? If there is anything that is true in that one page add paid for by the League of Governors, it is the fact that “Newbie” like among Ed doesn’t really know what the money is for, because obviously, those in the Governor’s league are already immune to bribery… such a bunch of liars!
This country of ours is becoming a seedbed of highly dishonest yet stupid life form of liars. I wouldn’t be surprised if Lying will be a legitimate profession in the near future because I am amused how these people in the government gained an educational equivalent of masteral and doctoral degrees in lying without actually attending school (if there is really such and who knows in the future right?).
People in the Government are so good at lying that we cannot anymore distinguish any white ass from black mules. In the people’s eye, they are all the same. Finger-pointing, back biting, spitting, bickering and if worse comes to worst, getting enemies as allies on your side. I tell you, one does not need to die in order to see hell. Just turn on your TV and watch the evening news and you will see the faces of the demons of Satan prowling like roaring lions in this country of ours. Heck, The Philippines should set the record for the longest Halloween event in the world EVER! Because having forked tongue and horned headed personalities speak evil over and over again in National TV is already an everyday Hollows eve. They do not even need a mask to scare anyone! Fantastic!
Our country is filthy than ever. This is not an attitude nor a perspective, but the truth. The Garbage problem of Metro Manila is no match for the moral degradation of our leaders in the military and the government. I say if you want a one-way trip to hell, go to the Government… they know the straight path.
I just wish that someday, the blue fairy will visit the Philippines and grow the noses of the people in the Government long: 1 foot for every lie, they made and will make. And I think with this, we will not need to cut trees anymore to make timber. The lying noses of these scoundrels are already enough to make shelter to thousands of homeless families.
One day, I say one day… the Philippines will become the Pinocchio Capital of the World!

re: glorietta explosion - i find the UP chemical engineers more credible than that of the PNP. mayor binay said that they will be conducting their own independent investigation out of disappointment to the changing statement of the investigators.
re: erap’s pardon - i think dok martin bautista’s view on this matter is quite reasonable.
re: the bribery - “will i believe the league of governors or the former priest?” come on! clearly, one should not be confused on who to believe here. also, the league should have just issued a statement to the press instead of publishing a full page advertisement. the latter step required ad fees while the former can be done without cost.

@Ronnie - you are so right. If there are people who has specialty in chemicals, it’s the chemical engineers themselves. I read doc martin’s blog and he has a reasonable view of the issue. I agree with him. Father panlilio is now being the target of scrutiny in the league.. di na katakataka… some of the Governors have accepted the money, ayaw lang aminin…
