Pananghalian

76th

Before my sister and nephews left for the states, we had a family feast last July 28, 2007 (My nephew Zairel’s Birthday) at Kamayan sa Palaisdaan, Quezon Province’s famous country style, hand munching, floating resto. Here are some of the foods we ordered during the feast. I had a hard time in getting the shots because Pudra, my dad, doesn’t like the idea of taking pictures of the food. I really didn’t had the chance to ask him why. Oh well here are some of the food photos taken by my very loyal and durable Nokia 6630 phone-cam and with it comes my most favorite bible passage from 1 Corinthians 13 that can satisfy not only your eyes and stomach, but also your soul.

In Him Alone” by Arnel Aquino SJ from the album Lauds

“If I have all the eloquence of men or of angels, but speak without love, I am simply a gong booming or a cymbal clashing” - 1 Corinthians 13:1

28072007(022)

“If I have faith in all its fulness, to move mountains, but without love, then I am nothing at all” - 1 Corinthians 13:2

28072007(023)

“If I give away all that I possess, piece by piece, and if I even let them take my body to burn it, but I am without love, it will do me nogood whatever” - 1 Corinthians 13:3

28072007(024)

“Love is always patient and kind” - 1 Corinthians 13:4

28072007(025)

“Love is never boastful or conceited” - 1 Corinthians 13:4

28072007(027)

“Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope and to endure whatever comes” - 1 Corinthians 13:6

28072007(028)

“Love does not come to an end” - 1 Corinthians 13:8

28072007(029)

“Love is never jealous” - 1 Corinthians 13:4

28072007(030)

“Love is never rude or selfish” - 1 Corinthians 13:5

“Love does not take offense” - 1 Corinthians 13:5

DSC00758-(Medium)

“love is not resentful” - 1 Corinthians 13:5

DSC00770-(Medium)

“You must want Love more than anything else” - 1 Corinthians 14:1

DSC02831

“There are three things that last: faith, hope and love: and the greatest of these is Love” - 1 Corinthians 13:13

Tidbits: “The background song you are listening to is one of my favorite songs during my seminary days and has helped me in strengthening my faith. During times of trials when everyone has left you or abandoned you, God is the only one who never leaves your side. In HIm Alone is the Love that no money can ever buy, and no person can ever give. Trust me, I’ve been there and since then no amount of human love has ever eclipsed the love that God has given me, everyday of my life.”

You really made my mouth watering. I’ll pick okra, ginataang hipon, squid and the seafood grill. Kaya lang bakit di inalis yung mga buto ng kalamansi sa sawsawan ng okra? Akala ko mga bawang-bits. Pasensia.

    So are you from Quezon?

@ ems- you know every time i feel so down on my love life, I just let my self read and read 1 Corinthians 13. It actually liberates me from my selfish inclinations. Ganda ng passage ano? I’ll also add that blog of yours on my footer blogroll, very very inspiring kapatid.

@ K- a yun ba? we dont usually remove the calamansi seeds here in our province when ever we put them in soy sauce or fish sauce… it adds to the flavor. sabi ko nga dun sa isa ko din kaibigan na nagtanong sa akin ng the same question years ago, “hindi mo naman iinumin yung toyo, at sasawsawan mo lang” LOL.

hehehe. I am from the province of the thousand colors and the land of longanizas! Magkapitbahay lang province natin nina Dom at Reynz. Kayong tatlo ay puro bikolano, ako kapitbahay nyo hehehe. madadaan nyo pa literally via philtranco o matnog express LOL.
