Have I told you that I am a sucker for Martin Nievera? His voice is so powerful, so high pitched that even if he screams at the top of his lungs, he can still manage to swoop down to recover the notes and then rise again. He sing his songs full of emotions and full of meaning. Though I know that the guy is too “gay” when he talks and when he blabber, nevertheless, there is this little truth that no matter how annoying he may be to other people, he still entertains me and inspire me to move forward in the grand scheme of things. What I like about Martin is that he is so full of passion, both in his love life and in his craft that every song he sings comes alive as if he is telling the story of your personal history. Last night while I was modifying the width of my blog (have you noticed the “BIG CHANGE?”) I stumbled upon this Video in you tube which I downloaded 7 months ago. As I watched it again for the first time since I downloaded it, memories started coming. The song he sang with Regine Velasquez during one of their biggest concerts ever, was the same song that gave me the conviction to always move on with life no matter how difficult and complicated it seems to be. This song originally rendered by Jeffrey Osborne entitled “On The Wings Of Love” is so powerful and moving that even if you listen to it again and again, it will still sound as a brand new song to your ears.

I bought my first album of Martin Nievera during college days and since then I already became addicted to his “Journeys” album that has this song, “On The Wings Of Love” including “You” (by the Carpenters) which is also one of my favorites. Martin with his powerful voice, singing a powerful rendition, together with a powerful songbird raises the message of the song into new heights. Watch the video so that you may witness how powerful Pinoy Voices are and how powerful love can be when expressed through a song.

Just last week, I once again experienced the wonderful feeling of being loved and loving in return. Of course it is a cliché that when someone mentions the word LOVE, the first thing that comes to our mind is our relationship with our own significant others. But love is not only vacuumed in that concept. Love is very much everywhere, that everyone one around you can be a vehicle of giving and receiving love: Friends, family, relatives, parents, siblings, friends and even your own pets are sometimes vectors of this contagious virtual mystery.Love is so powerful that even if you decided to close your doors to people who have hurt you the most, it opens up unexpectedly like a gush of flowing water on a rock. The power of love is not meant to be kept, it is always meant to be shared. For if Love is kept only to oneself, it will prove futile, impotent and disappointing. Like a 100 dollar bill, the more you keep it to yourself, the more its value will depreciate. But the more you spend it, the more it will circulate for others to spend and utilize. Just like money, love loses its power when not used. Its value depreciates when kept and its existence is rendered extinct because of inactivity. We have to open our wings, start to flap and then take our greatest leap in order to fly and glide in this wonderful feeling of Love.

Sometimes we are too preoccupied in casting away love from our lives in order to preserve ourselves from possible hurts and depression. But what we don’t know is that, the more we are prepared to repel love, the more we are vulnerable to it. That is the power of love. It always swoops down on you, the least you expect it.

    I think Martin is an awesome guy. He knows where to hit the notes and so consistent all throughout his career. If he’s a a NOTE perfect when he sings, his marriage wasn’t the grand so to speak. His life shattered for a while when He and Pops separated (surprisingly, they still remained friends). If Martin wants to sing another song (a revival) they should sing TWO-GETHER and I would be happy. I am a fan of both.

    And btw, new url blog? Considering of getting a three-column layout? Don’t get me wrong, the music slider doesn’t function easily (the buffering takes forever) or maybe it’s just me.

    @ K. I agree. I think in every artist comes his weaknesses. He is bright, awesome, total performer yet very weak when it comes to women.

    I already tried getting a new 3 column layout. actually I’m still looking for a perfect one. Kc I really wanted a 3 column theme with a big header flexibility. pero wala eh. eto lang talaga nagugustuhan ko pa. yung updated version nitong theme na to three layers na kaya lang when I tried it, it so damn big (file size wise) that it renders my site inaccessible and slow to load.

    about the slider, it buffers well on my end. Im just using a 375kbps broadband but its really fast. don’t worry I’ll look into it. Actually kaya ako nagtatagal magpost kasi nauubos freetimeko katetest sa lahat ng plugin at graphics nitong blog nato. I don’t want anyone who come here experiencing some hassles and glitches kaya I make it to a point that everything is smooth. sometimes it takes forever because of the peak hours, the newly cached PCs and Lap Tops and the bandwidth of my site (Page.PH) and the reader’s Internet provider.

    honestly I like your site a lot. it’s so sleek and clean. it really reflects your personality. Nakikita ko na neat-freak ka rin sa gamit sa bahay kasi it reflects very much on the themes you use and the way you arrange your sidebar widgets. sensya na ha i’m an unofficial shrink. I always read people’s personality hehe. weired no?

    @ Malen - thanks malen. It’s the heart that always writes. The mind only dictates and the hand executes. but everything should always comes from the heart.

    I noticed wala ka ata sa blogroll ko sa footer, kaya siguro di kita madalaw dalaw sa balay mo. mukhang nadelete ka sa paglilipat ko. anyway ilalagay ko uli.My apologies. kumusta na kayo ng Reyna? nagkatuluyan na ba kayo? hahaha. alam mo nagdududa na tuloy ako na baka ikaw si “ay ambot” sa cbox nya hahaha. anyway bagay kayo. pareho kayo masaya kausap.
