“No one lives by bread alone” because like our own body, our soul also need nourishments. Starting today, I will feature in my Blog different foods and beverages from different feast and banquets, from different gatherings and get-togethers and from different holidays and celebrations, interspersed with the Word of God. Now that is what I call a heavenly food
Of course, in every eye-candy of foods that you will see here is also an inspiration that will satisfy your soul. Now gracing the “Food For The Soul” series are recent sustenances straight from one of my good friend’s (who also happens to be a monk) kitchen and pantry, Dom Lawrence OSB of the Order of the Benedictines (Cenobites). His blog (Tales from the Cenobite) is a sure hit for those who are physiologically hungry and spiritually thirsty. Below are some of the foods that they cooked in due time for Brother Andrew’s ordination and for the Feast of St. Benedict. Gobble up buddy!

“When the storm is over, the wicked man is no more, but the virtuous stands firm for ever “ Proverbs 10:25

“A tittle-tattler lets secrets out, a trustworthy man keeps things hidden “ Proverbs 11:13

“A Golden ring in the snout of a pig is a lovely woman who lacks discretion “ Proverbs 11:22

“The generous soul will prosper, he who waters will be watered “ Proverbs 11:25

“Pride comes first, disgrace comes after; with the humble is wisdom found “. Proverbs 11:2

Hi Army,
I ate delicious white rice like that yesterday. I am in the wedding party of a Roman Catholic friend who is marrying a woman of Filipino ancestry. It was a preparation meeting out in the heat for seven hours, and I am tired from it today.

ey blue, salamat ng madami— this post gave me so much energy to keep moving forward for my future cooking assignments–the next will be Sept the 8th-…then 2nd week of november-which falls on our week-long retreat.and the most, food-studded event of the year= Christmas parties from Dec 24th-25th-26th-27th and 28th…. hayyyy- naiisip ko lang ang mga ito ay pinanghihinaan na ako ng tuhod at kumikirot mga kasu kasuan ko na hindi nga nawawala ang pananakit — pero sa post na ginawa mo ay nabuhayan ako ng loob- nanlaban ang mga ugat ko sa mga kasu kasuan ko para ipagwalang bahala ang mga sakit sakit na yan na nararamdaman ko at ng maipagpatuloy ko ang misyon ko dito sa mundo–tulad ng aking patron na si San Lorenzo ng Italya- ang patron ng mga cooks and great chefs noong ito ay nabubuhay pa….. hahahahahahah. :)…
