I was awaken by a loud knock on my door and telling me to get up because there was already a Pope. So I hurriedly got out of my bed and ran to the TV room and the bells on St. Peter’s Square were tolling non-stop. People were cheering and you can feel the hype between the people at the Piazza and the media personalities commenting on what is happening. It was 7:06 Rome time when the initial black smoke then gave rise to a billow of white smoke signaling that a Pope has indeed been elected. After an 50 minutes or so, the crowd started to get loud again. It was the Vatican Band and Swiss guards in full armada marching towards the front of St. Peter’s Basilca. Minutes more, the lights on the windows of both sides of the Balcony lit up and everyone cheered. Until the Cardinal Deacon step out of the Balcony and announced “Cardinalem Jorge Mario Bergoglio as Pope Francis I and the rest was history. OTWOMD is one with the Christendom in welcoming the New Pope. The Holy Spirit did well!
