August 18, 2011 – One of my most favorite photo set every world youth day is the behind the scenes Photos. Like I said before, there are scenes and moments that are not captured by panning cameras beyond the consciousness of the main events. We often focus our eyes on what is happening at front and center yet there are real stories happening beyond the obvious. Questions that will be answered by these photos like: What happens after the welcoming ceremony? or Where do people go to? or where did pilgrims get their water? These and similar questions are often answered by the silence and vivid depictions captured in every behind the scenes photos. We see glimpses of what transpire beyond the public eye. Scenes which sometimes tell us more about World Youth day than actual verbal accounts. Some photographers tend to capture the main events. But I am more impressed by photographers who can capture what the public eyes doesn’t usually see. In Journalism, this is equal to Back story. In Photography, this is behind the scenes. Below are some of the Behind the scenes for Day 3 of World Youth day 2011 in Madrid.
