It’s official my friends in Christ, Rio De Janeiro is going to host the 2013 World Youth Day. My holy Rumor mongering finally paid-off and again we have guessed wisely for the second time around, the next World Youth Day. We have blogged about it but did not confirmed it, although there are many leads as to why Rio will be the the one: The mayor prematurely announcing to the world that WYD will be hosted in Brazil, the large number of Brazilian delegates in Madrid and the unceasing lobbying of the Brazilian Bishops as early as 2008 to ask the Holy Father to award them the next world youth day. Well they got it and I hope this time, locals will be nicer and more hospitable, the kind of locals that doesn’t hurt and injure Pilgrims or mock Pilgrims to death. Pope Benedict XVI announced the next World Youth Day a few minutes ago before this post was published, in front of an estimated 2 Million Catholics who attended the Final Mass at Cuatro Vientos. Another WYD have ended. Goodbye Madrid, and welcome Rio, we are expecting a record-breaking attendance, 2 years from now. OTWOMD WILL BE THERE FOR THE THIRD TIME AROUND!
