August 17, 2011 – Despite the historical outburst of protesters against the Pilgrims and brief disruption of peace that happend on Day 2 of World Youth Day, the atmosphere is generally peaceful, fruitful and orderly all over Madrid as Pilgrims did not only able to hear our Bishops’ words of wisdom but also were able to enjoy various musical programs and other cultural programs for the entertainment and the arts. Some had a relaxing walk, others just sit and talk on sidewalks and coffee shops, most hyper active groups stage skits, dances and short programs on parks and streets while others just sit and relax in the shade, taking a break from the almost hectic schedule fof the day. For me as, as a world youth day alumni, the most exciting part of the event is when you stroll around the city after the catechetical program and treat yourself to various kaleidoscope of cultural programs that you might see in some corner or street whereever pilgrims and delegates gather. The Photos you will se below are some of the scenes of Day 2 in World Youth Day 2011 which are not often seen on TV and on Video Broadcast.
