3-wyd-2011-madrid-preparations-4-mass30,000 volunteers from all over the world came to Madrid and has been deployed across the city to assist in various preparations. Yesterday, August 16, 2011, hours before pilgrims flock to Cibeles Square, home of the City Government of Madrid and is known as the most beautifcul square of all Spain, volunteers were present in full force setting up barricades, dividers, banners, lines, chairs and everything that will be virtually in need of preparation and attention. Not a single Volunteer was idle or immobile during the hours leading to the opening Mass. Some have helped in fixing chairs, others were lining up liturgical stoles and vestments, while others got the most noble task of Carrying the Pilgrim Cross and Icon towards the stage. These people, young and old are working tirelessly for free. They usually have less time to sleep but more time for work. This they doo, all for the Glory of God.
