World Youth Day will not be world youth day without the sacrament of Confession. Everyday, from the Opening day until the Final Mass, countless priests are accessible in a designated area to hear confession for pilgrims and penitents. This year, WYD organizers in Madrid assigned the Retiro park to be the official confessional area for World Youth Day in Madrid, they even built custom-shaped confessionals with designated languages for all pilgrims coming from around the world. Some of the Photos you will see in this post are one of the most touching photos so far. The actual absolution of sins caught on camera shows the visual representation of the mercy of God bestowed on us through the power vested on Priests to forgive sins. It is actually inspiring to see people kneeling and humbly submit themselves to the mercy of God in broad daylight, in order to ask forgiveness. This is one of my favorite part during World Youth Day, when countless souls are forgiven of their sins. Millions of angels are probably rejoicing right now in heaven.
