Days of the Diocese ends all over Spain today, August 14, 2011 as 130,000 early pilgrims concludes their journey in each diocese to enter the main phase of their Spanish Pilgrimage; the World Youth Day proper in Madrid. The days of the Diocese started last August 11 on all 65 British, french and Spanish dioceses wherein different pilgrims from different continents are treated with Catechetical programs, pilgrimage, cultural programs, religious programs and activities to foster and strengthen human solidarity. Days of the Diocese are part of the World Youth Day tradition wherein Different dioceses from the host country welcome different pilgrims across the Globe to prepare them with the main event. During these days the Dioceses are offering free accommodation to pilgrims in schools, parish centres, sports centres and private homes. The contribution of local authorities had been very positive. In Barcelona, 40,000 young pilgrims gather to close the Days of the Diocese, a sign that the WYD proper is near. Below are the Photos of the successful Days of the Diocese which ended today. Tomorrow August 15, 2011, a mass for the sending of Pilgrims to WYD will commence all over Spain.
