It would never be World Youth Day without its souvenirs. Souvenirs given by World Youth Days are usually functional items served as a kit in order to help the pilgrim participate in the events and cultural activities. Like for example in WYD 1995 manila, the official souvenir kit includes stickers and post cards. In WYD 2005 in Cologne, the organizers included Candles for the Youth Vigil. And in WYD 1993 in Denver, the kit includes meal stubs and tickets to various museum exhibit featuring Catholic ancient arts. These functional items when kept safely are turned into valuable souvenirs. On my part, most of the items I got from World Youth Day 1995 in Manila are still intact and in good condition. From the cassette tapes, to the mints of John Paul II, they are all kept in a safe place and somehow brings back tons of memories whenever I look at them. This year, Celebrating WYD 2011, the Spanish organizers from Madrid issued various functional souvenir items included in the official kit that will surely last a lifetime. If you are part of the pilgrims attending the event, you probably have these items included in your kit. Below are the Photos.
