Part of the world youth day tradition is for the host city to implement an accessible place for the youth to have their regular confession. Usually, the confession takes place when no major event is being held during the the stretch of the celebration. Traditionally confessions should ideally take place inside the church but because of the number of young pilgrims who want to undergo confession, host cities put up chairs or confessional boxes in wide spaces, mostly in parks. For the World Youth Day 2011 in Madrid, the host city constructed custom made confessionals located at the Retiro park. OTWOMD acquired photos of the said confessional booths days before the WYD starts. The confessional booths are lined up at the Retiro Park and was painted white with the WYD 2011 logo at the top of each booth. It is shaped like triangular spires / surf boards with individual partitions and windows where priests and a confessor will sit. Below are the Photos.
