PIRATED-PRIEST-IN-CHINAChina is breaking not only diplomatic ties once again with the Vatican but also a continuum of Apostolic Tradition as they push thru their plan of ordaining Father Joseph Shen Guo’an as one of China’s Prelate of the National Church Prelate in Wuhan Diocese without the approval of the Pope. The Government controlled Catholic Church does not acknowledge the Pope as its Supreme leader but the Chinese Government. November last year, china shocked catholics all over the world as it breaks ties with the Vatican and established its own Government controlled catholic Church by ordaining a bishop despite the reservations of the Vatican. This coming ordination of Guo’an is one of the many ordinations still to come this year which the Vatican calls as illicit ordinations. Last month, the Pope called on the Universal Church to pray for Catholics in China who are widely affected by this modern-day schism. It seems that China is following the steps of England. If China will continue its plan to ordain prelates outside the seat of Peter, then it is safe to say that even China’s Catholic Priests are pirated: similar in form and appearance of the original but devoid of the true value of its very essence.

This action of China is an ignorance of the true nature of religion and of the Catholic Church. The Catholic church is very independent from the state. The Catholic Church is governed by the Holy Spirit thru the Pope and the College of Cardinals, and not just by any government. The Control and Power of the Church doesn’t lie on influence but thru moral ascendancy, faith and worship on the Triune God. To establish a Catholic Church outside the fold of Peter’s successor is not Catholic at all but another faction that fall into schism.

We continue to pray for China and its people.
