Rita da CasciaRita da Cascia is a 2004 TV Movie produced by Lux Vide starring Vittoria Belvedere as St. Rita of Cascia and Martin Crewes as Paolo Mancini. The movie was released on September 24, 2004 and has English and Italian versions. The movie is primarily in English and was shoot on location in Florence and Tuscany in italy. The story evolves about young Rita Lotti who is shown as a woman with full of conviction and conservative catholic values imparted to her by her parents. I have watched the whole movie and I really recommend this to those who are facing difficulties in their life, especially mothers who having problems with their own husband. The movie, although about saint Rita, has minor deviations from the original hagiography of the saint. For example, instead of being betrothed to Paolo Mancini in her official account,in the movie, Rita was the one who willingly gave her hand to Paolo for marriage contrary to the opposition of her father who sees the Mancinis as materialistic clan who only wants interests and power. In the official account, Saint Rita of Cascia was married to Paolo Mancini at the age of twelve, but in the film, Rita married Paolo at early twenties. Read the rest of the Review here.
