Basilan Bishop Martin Jumoad lauded on Wednesday President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s inspiring speech, saying the President spoke like a “newly installed bishop.”
“I had goose bumps while listening to him,” he said.
Jumoad said Aquino inspired his listeners by touching on the sufferings of the people, particularly of the overseas Filipino workers, who had been keeping the country afloat with their remittances.
“He really inspired a lot of Filipinos especially when he spoke about the plight and struggles of Overseas Filipino Workers. It was like giving hope to everyone that in this country, we’ll a have a chance to live a better life and not to send mothers out of the country, leaving her family in wreck just to earn a living, sana (hopefully) it will all happen and materialize,” Jumoad said.
But the prelate expressed his concern about Aquino’s promises that might be difficult to achieve.
“I hope God will always be at his side,” he said.
