mosesFor story pitcher Peter Chermin, his first movie should be biblical in proportion. So he decided to pitch in his idea of Moses journey told in 300 movie-like style to 20th century fox power gods which the latter acquired. For those of you who never saw the movie “300″ or have any Idea what is it, let me just say that it is a movie about a greek war tragedy filmed using entirely of green screen and colors and hues were manipulated in order to look like a moving graphic comic book novel. So in short, the Cecil B. DeMille 1956 Ten Commandments movie which starred by the late Charlton Heston, will be remade ala “300″ style. Peter Chermin said that the story of the new Ten Commandments will begin with Moses near death as an infant to his adoption into the Egyptian court, his defiance of the Pharaoh and deliverance of the Hebrews from enslavement.

The Movie will use the Green Screen technique just like the 300 movie. So expect that the film would look like more of a war movie that a religious biblical epic. Some conservatives would definitely raise their eyebrows on the way the film would look and eel, but the good news is, it will be highly historical. The scenes of miraculous intervention by God during the parting of the red sea and the popular ten plagues of Egypt will be included in the film –but the Cooper & Collage version will also include new elements of Moses’ life that the writers culled from Rabbinical Midrash and other historical sources.

As of now the movie is still in the works and have no rumored star yet.

Will people like this movie since it is a combination of history and art rolled into one film? Will the spiritual and moral impact of the 1956 Ten Commandments will still be significant in this new film by Peter Chermin? Tell OTWOMD what you think.

Why can’t they just leave originals alone  :?:   A remake destroys the originals credibility.   Take the 60′s Flubber for example.  A remake with Robin Willaims was made back in ’98  :?:.   It’s slightly different than the original. Remakes don’t always work well.  They sometimes flop.

Sounds cool, I hope they change the Pharaoh; because in historical accounts, there was no great exodus of the Hebrew people in Ramses’ era. However under Pharaoh Ahmose’s era there was. Also interesting, is under his era; there is a lot of evidence that matches up with the bible 100%- including each of the plagues.

Let Speilberg do it.  It doesn’t need to be in that 300 looking crap, that would be horrible. Just like all of those movies made in that crappy manner.
