But I can't seem to relate to the equation that following the letter of the law in singing the national anthem is tantamount to loving less our country. I have always sided with George Canseco when he proposed to change the arrangement of the anthem from that of a march to a hymn. In his observation, which I also humbly share, it is hard to emotionally and passionately connect to the well-timed precision and up tempo of the march. Isn't it ironic that our forefathers fought for us to have freedom, the full fruition of which is freedom of expression and yet, again in my opinion, the letter of the law stifles that same expression in our national anthem.
