An emotional Requiem Mass was held at the Manila Cathedral for the late President Corazon Aquino at 9am Wednesday morning (August 5, 2009). The said Mass was very emotional, soliciting tears from mourners, guests and family members alike. Even one of the singer of the Mass, Zsazsa Padilla broke down at the background after singing “Hindi Kita Malilimutan”. The highlight of the Mass was that of the Holy Eucharist. Most memorable and unforgetable part were the Homily of Fr. Arevalo (Spiritual Director of Corazon Aquino), the commendation of Bataan Bishop Soc Villegas DD, the Eulogy cum Thank you speech of Kris Aquino who wept while saying her piece and the goosebump generating rendition of Lea Salonga’s “Bayan Ko” which gained praise and loud applause from the crowd inside and outside the Cathedral.
