This is the sixth episode of the Princess, The Priest and the war for the perfect wedding, and a viewer asked the priest and the princess why their favorite love song from the Beatles cannot be played on their wedding day. I guess the inquirer is not alone in this issue since most of the couples i met have this same problem especially if the Parish they will be married is strict. Being a geek of the liturgy, I know the valid reasons why secular songs are shun from the liturgy itself, but let us dwell further on issue by listening to what the Priest has to say about this, on this very interesting Busted Halo’s web series.

The Hosts: Dr. Christine B. Whelan, is an Iowa-based social historian, professor, journalist and author. She is the author of Marry Smart: The Intelligent Woman’s Guide to True Love, and Why Smart Men Marry Smart Women.Fr. Eric Andrews CSP is the pastor of Blessed John XXIII parish, which serves as the Catholic campus ministry for the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Prior to entering the priesthood, he worked for Jim Henson and the Muppets on a variety of television productions.
