10-vocation-holy-landOf all the places on earth, Holy Land has the highest incidence of vocations this last few years. Toppling Europe and the US in the vocation race, Holy Land seminaries are now full packed, needs expansion and lacking of funds because of sudden surge of vocations. The Diocese of Jerusalem said they need to expand their seminaries in order to accept vocations and avoid turning the candidates aways. In recent months, seminaries were forced to send the young people back home to their families because the facilities cannot accommodate them all. This however is what the diocese of Jerusalem is currently facing. Can you believe it? The Cradle of Christianity which is Europe is losing vocations while the war torn and hostile Holy Land is having its vocation oasis. Truly, God works in mysterious ways: He always raise shepherd to tend his flock. There will come a time that Philippines will also lose vocations. That’s why it is very important for us to always pray that God may bless us with Priestly and Religious vocations

Wooo! from war-torn Jerusalem! And if i may add to the prayer for vocations – that Filipino Catholics would truly claim Christ through faith, be “in-formed” by the richness of our tradition, and have the courage to dialogue through the lens of faith and reason with what’s going on in the world.Any link to this piece of interesting news?

This is good news. Does this mean they believe now that Jesus Christ is really God?

This is certainly a good sign because they now realized that Jesus is present in their lives. Honestly, one of my goal in life is to visit their land to see how pretty Jerusalem is.

well according to what i read, which ironically i forgot to post the link here, most of the catholics in the Holy Lands are arabs. even if they are catholics already, they still have this angst against the jews for occupying the holy land.

Jews still remain the same… they are still waiting for their messiah which is Jesus in our faith. Ewan kung kelan tatagal ang paghihintay nila dahil dumating na ang mesiyas, sila lang ang ayaw tumanggap. pero they are our elder brothers in the faith thats why we have the old testament. Jesus was actually a Jew and not a catholic or christian
