3164914668_d98c9d1976_oIt is when I write personal reflections of my experiences that I do justice to what i like best. Reflections and essays are really my forte ever since. Those thesis like reflections that can sometimes numb you out of longevity or kill you with the sharpest words used. I am dumb in writing news. I am corny when writing humor and I am ineffective when writing satire. But give me a passage in the bible, a dash of my experience, a spice of what life has to offer and a pinch about God and his creation, then bam! I can concoct the most thought provoking reflection that have you ever read. Teka yumayabang na ako ah. Ang ibig ko lang sabihin mas enjoy at at ease ako pag reflections ang sinusulat ko. hehe So here are OTWOMD’s Best of the Best Posts for 2008 (I think).

10. Joyful Joyful – My last reflection post for the year ever since my old webhost booted me out of its service. It dwelt on the Sunday Gospel and at the same time on on an issue about the Messiah Complex existing among some bloggers.

9. Star Talk – My New Year salvo last year of 2008 when I tried wringting a reflection on the feast of the three kings, intertwining it with the metaphore of the Star in our own lives.

8. Waiting in Vain – My first Sunday reflection on the beginning of the Advent Season wherein I suffered a worse writer’s block, taking me at least 5 hours to write this piece.

7. Stranger than Fiction – A debut entry for the series “Thy Word” suggested by an anonymous reader on my guest book, which has become a weekly habit until I moved from one server to another.

6. The Dance that launched half-a-billion Prayers into Heaven – My Providential interview with Bro. Inia of Fiji who just stumbled upon on my blog, was one of the momentous accomplishment of OTWOMD. I never met Bro. Inia in person but he generously allowed me to interview him via email.

5. Malayang Isipan – A meme turned into a feature about freedom on writing, thinking and speaking. My first ever entry written in full Tagalog (my own dialect).

4. The Match, The Socket and the Beginning of human Life – An analogy about the beginning of human life in the womb during the height of the Abortion issue connected with Barack Obama’s win in the Presidential seat.

3. High and Mighty - A never before written reflection about Manny Pacquiao’s triumph against De La Hoya under the shadow of the Sunday Gospel and John the Baptist’s humility.

2. The Voice in the greater Scheme of Things – A semi-autobiography of my vocation story for the Vocation Stories project in “The Voice” Series. Actually its an excerpt of my long and detailed vocation story which I share for the first time in public.

1. Nanay died, then she came back, now she’s dying again – My most emotional and heartbreaking entry for this year is when I wrote about the death and burial of my Grandmother who became a part of my life and has become one of my pillars in my Catholic Faith.

Gathering from the comments and statistics on my blog, I can very well say that only a handful of my readers reads this kind of entry. Probably because its a torture for them to read such a long piece. Who can blame them? I am terrible when writing reflections. the words “concise” and “short” has never been in my vocabulary. But then again, how I wish they can all read this, because when I write about God and my experiences in life, it is the only time that the readers can see who Bluepanjeet truly is as a blogger.
