jesus_callThis song has been on my list since I bought my very first PC. This song was one of our favorite Advent song in the seminary that was taught to us by our music professor and choir master. I have been looking for this song everywhere and for 6 years I never found it, not a single copy of it on the net. I thought I lost all hope in finding the mp3 of this song. Until I my friend Rebecca who gave me a copy of this beautiful song. This is the best ever digital gift that I received this Christmas because this song is so rare that you cannot find it anywhere else except here and Becca’s site. There are so many memories connected with this song. This is actually popular among franciscans for this song resembles the Praise of the Creatures of St. Francis of Assisi. Finally, I am sharing to you the song You are the Voice courtesy of Rebecca.

YOU ARE THE VOICE

Refrain: You are the voice of the living God,
Calling us now to live in your love,
To be children of God once again!

1. Praise for the light that shines through the night,
from darkness to light, from death to new life,
and praise to the morning that brings forth the sun,
to open our eyes to the Lord!
To open our eyes to the Lord!

Refrain: You are the voice of the living God,
Calling us now to live in your love,
To be children of God once again!

2. Praise for the water that springs from the sea,
the seed that gives life to all who believe,
God?s love overflowing, our hearts know the joy
to be daughters and sons of the Lord!
To be daughters and sons of the Lord!

Refrain: You are the voice of the living God,
Calling us now to live in your love,
To be children of God once again!

3. Praise for the singing and praise for the dance,
with new heart and voice,
all raise the song of praise to creation;
all heaven and earth, come sing of the glory of God!
Come sing of the glory of God!

Kapatid, remember what I told you the first time you embedded this song on your post entitled “Waiting in Vain”? I said: “The music is perfect. I can?t get enough of it. More than 50x na yata siyang tumutugtog dito sa PC ko now. (Will definitely be added to my favorites)”.

The moment I heard it, I instantaneously got hooked into it. From the lyrics… to the melody… sarap pakinggan!

    Thanks to Rebecca!

bLUEP, di ko lam pero di ko to natutunan sa sem, kahit sa mga heswita dito. dun lang sa st. louis nung out na ako. napaka-memorable ang kantang to sa akin kasi pag nagsisimba ako sa Jesuit church ng SLU,damang dama ko yung belongingness sa kabila ng aking kalungkutan.feeling ko that time, everybody was singing this song; they knew this song so well the congregation was always ready to pour out what’s in their hearts right from the start of the mass.

Usually this is an entrance song. You should hear seminarians sing lalao na ang mga monha namin sa kablang pader, very uplifting. kikilabutan ka sa ganda.

I think the coomposer of this song is a Franciscan

May casette tape ako dati non pero inamag na. hinahanap ko ngayon sa mga tindahan wala. pag nakapunta ako dyan naku i will raid the catholic bookstore of their cds.

I hope you enjoyed the song. Its from Becca.

When I had my brief regency it was december and I miss the seminary so much that when I walk during dawn on my way to the church for simbang gabi, i sing this song sabay tulo ng uhog. This is the song that we always sing every advent season especially sa simbang gabi namin. kaya lungkot na lungkot ako though brief lang ang regency ko, still wala ako sa seminary at that season kung saan pinaka masaya kami. I felt all alone back then.

Nung nasa seminary kami we usually have 6 to 7 dawn masses everyday because we have to attend to differnt simbang gabi in the neighboring barrios.

you should hear the seminarians and nuns sing this. It has a 4 voice piece and the voicing is amazing. Imagine four voices singing the chorus at may chuwariwap pa. Its really amazing.
