2-newsmakersLast Sunday I failed to watch this special GMA7 Sunday Night Documentary about the 5 presidents of the Philippines and the controversies that surrounded their administration. It was the first time that they were able to interview all of the 5 Presidents in one show. But because my fingers are too efficient in combing the whole youtube for the episode, I found what I was looking for at last. Of course the whole docu was again a superb presentation by the Public Affairs Program but I just have some few comments about it. First, there was nothing new about the Presidents. I mean someway or another we have already read or heard about what the docu showed. Second it could have been better if they turned it into a mini series, for example showing a full length interview of the Presidents every sunday and answering the most controversial questions that they’ve asked them.

The whole episode was just a two hour recap of the history. Kumbaga bitin ako. Sayang it would have generated much viewers if they made it to a one on one no holds barred interview. Pero in fairness with the public affairs team, they did a great job with the docu, lalo na’t ngayon alam ko na na mahirap ang trabaho nila as what Lenggai posted on her blog. All in all I could say that it was informative for those who doesn’t know much about the history. Siguro ako lang ang may problema kasi halos lahat nung sinabi ng mga presidente alam ko na eh (close ko sila haha). Pero sana and I am hoping that GMA 7 public affairs team would have a no hold’s barred interview with the past presidents.

I like the way the 5 main anchors of the public affairs team delivered their questions. They were brave but not offending. Like What Mike Enriquez asked about Imelda Marcos regarding the term “conjugal dictatorship” I mean if it was not Mike who asked that question, I don’t think others can pull that off. Even the very sensitive and fesity Gloria Arroyo was not spared of Mel Tiangco’s courage to ask the controversial issues. Ayaw lang talaga ni Madame siguro sagutin kasi baka magkaroon na naman ng slip of the tongue haha. What I like about the GMA docu is that its not biased, its fair and credible without sounding offensive to the interviewee.

So before I even drown you with my non-sense, here are the full videos of the show. Watch them before you tube deltes it again. Courtesy of NinoyAquinoTV channel.
