For an Economics illiterate like me, I can’t fully understand the specifics and dynamics of the economy and its pitfalls. Heck this is the reason why I took up a non-math related course hehe. But seriously, in my own admission, I get nosebleeds whenever I read the business section. Maybe because I’m not an economist. Let’s just leave the economic field to Reynz. But what I do understand is that our economy is still somewhat dependent on the western financial trends. Just recently, I read a nose bleeding news about how Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch plunged on the stocks yesterday. If you will ask me to explain it technically, I won’t be able to. But in layman’s terms, (calling all economist correct me if i’m wrong), the fall and bankruptcy of the two largest financial lending institutions in the US is a big blow to the US economy, bringing with them on their dive at least $60 Billion Dollars of moolah–READ: TRILYONES PESOSES!

Buti nga, dami nyo kasi dinedeny na applicants sa US embassy na gusto lang naman gastusin ang pera nila sa inyong Bansa! haha. But the point is this, ADB just predicted that the economic shock wave could soon hit Asia because like what I said before, we are still dependent on their economy. After Lechman Brothers and Merril Lynch collapsed in the NYSE, leading banks here in the Philippines also plummeted yesterday, leaving Banco De Oro with a fall of 15.4 percent to P33 in its shares (whatever that means).

Ang Punto ko lang mga kakosa, kapag hindi tumigil ng kakukurap ang mga political leaders natin, asahan nyo na wala ng matitira sa ating ekonomiya. You know someone in the Congress should propose that corrupt officials should be dealt with death or capital punishment if proven guilty of such. Imagine how many lives will be killed if our own Economy fell?

Ano sasabihin ni Gloria, “isipin nyo na lang na ham yan”?.

Magising sana tayo dito sa bangungot na to. Kabi-kabila ang corruption betcha my gulay wow! Parang ayoko nang bumoto sa susunod na election!
