POPE Benedict XVI has begun his boat trip on Sydney Harbour. The Pope left St Mary’s Cathedral house about 2.20pm (AEST) for Rose Bay in the eastern suburbs, where MV Sydney 2000 was waiting for him. Aborigenes greeted the Holy Father with an indigenous dance and a symbolical Gift Offering of a eucalyptus branch symbolizing dry land. The Pope spent a few minutes talking with the young aboregenes performers before embarking his famous Boat-a-cade in sydney harbour wherein tens of thousands on sydney shores welcomed him aboard the MV Sydney 2000.
