As early as July 8, 2008, Nuns started pouring at the World Youth Day 2008 in Sydney Australia. An estimated of over 2,000 nuns has poured in the streets of Sydney to take part at the World Youth Day Phenomenon as Volunteers, Catechists, Participants and Pilgrims. In all shapes and sizes, in all kinds of hues and colors, in all manners of habit and in all orders and congregation available, you can see them roaming on the streets of Sydney, either praying in church, having walks and pilgrimages or getting a cone of ice cream on a winter season in Sydney. Even Sydneysiders were astonished on seeing the sudden influx of these holy amazons of Christ in their very city. The Nun’s presence gives the WYD a holy and gentle atmosphere as they greet fellow pilgrims and locals with their angelic smiles. Look at the Photos after the jump and you will definitely exclaim–”it’s raining Nuns!”
