On The Wings Of My Dream In The Greater Scheme Of Things
And the newbies emerge…
When Janette Toral sent me a private message informing me of the Sequel of her very successful Project which is the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs, I readily prepared my LONG list of blogs that I want to nominate. Included in my list are 27 new emerging blogs from various niche and platforms. But because the project has a cut off of date of conception no earlier than July 1, 2007, my long list became a short list, cutting my nominees to 17 because some of the blogs included were conceived earlier than the cut off date. But what led me to my Top 10 emerging blog list is the criteria that the contest is asking. And because the project is called “emerging influential blogs” I focused on the two main key words. I asked myself if the 17 blogs included on my list are indeed emerging… meaning they are active, participating in the blog community and rising from their own limitations to cultivate their own potentials as bloggers. The next question I asked myself was, how do these blogs influence people, specifically on my own encounter with them? Are they beneficial to the common good? Are their entries provokes thinking and reflection among readers? Are they setting some trends considering that they existed less than a year? and are their contents have enough quality and sense to really influence people and say what they want to say regardless of popularity and comments acquired from readers? so answering my own questions, I came up with my final list of the 10 newbie blogs that OTWOMD is rooting for the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs. Who can join?
- Any blogger in the world. Only one entry per blogger.
- Blog or website owner profile and e-mail is accessible or visible online.
To join this effort, please do the following:
- Write a blog post and pick your choice of 10 (or less) emerging influential blogs.
- Any blog in the world can be picked.
- You can update the same post entry up to July 26. However, please inform us of any changes.
- Old blogs who move to a new domain are disqualified
- Blogs who remove their archives just to fit in the cut-off date are disqualified.
- Include a link to this post to help spread the word and encourage others to participate.
- Post a comment and let us know about your entry. Only one entry per blogger. Cut-off date and time for submission of entries is on July 26, Saturday, 5:00 pm (GMT+9:30). Afterwards, submission of comments in this page shall be closed.
Every week, beginning May 1, Janette Toral will:
- List the blogs that you’ve chosen. Only those that are blogs and created from July 2007 to the present shall be listed.
- Feature one sponsor per week (logo and one paragraph blurb).
- Each sponsorship slot is US$150.
- Those getting more than one slot will have their logo appear at the sidebar of this blog.
- Interested sponsors can email me at digitalfilipino at gmail.com
- All entries will also be put in a master list on the 2nd week onwards.
- She encourage you to subscribe to our blog and receive updates as this writing project evolves.
On July 27 to 31, I will:
- Make a final review of posts. We will post a message in your entry to inform you that we’ve completed the review and no more updates shall be entertained afterwards.
- Note that we have the right to disqualify entries and the citations they made, if we are not able to confirm or authenticate the blogger’s identity on or before July 29. This is especially true to blogs with anonymous identities and those with pre-dated entries (versus its blog date creation).
On August 1, 2008, we will do the following:
- List the The Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs in 2008 based from your posts.
- I will pick ten writing project entries in random who will get one hundred dollars (US$100) each.
- Only those who cited at least 10 qualified blogs in their entry shall be included in the raffle.
- Prizes are transmitted via Paypal.
- There’ll be three special prize winners as well (one for each) targeted to those who helped us promote this writing project via Digg, Del.icio.us, StumbleUpon

Bluep, nakakatuwa naman itong ginawa mo para sa akin. Hindi ko akalain na kahit papaano ay mayroong influencia ako sa ibang mambabasa. Feeling ko kasi puro tungkol sa pamilya ko lang at buhay namin dito sa KSA ang aking naisusulat.
Nais ko lang sabihin sa iyo na bagamat ng Sep07 lang ako nagbukas ng Wordpress account, mayroon na rin akong blog sa Yahoo 360 noon at ito ay inilipat ko lang sa aking bagong blogsite dahil nagsarado ang Y360. Limited nga lang ang mambabasa ko dati dahil ito ay puro sa pamilya at kaibigan lamang (hindi katulad ngayon). Sayang naman at kung ma technical ka dahil dito.
Ulit, ako ay nagpapasalamat sa iyong recognition, kapatid. Tunay na ikaw ay katulong naming mga newbie sa pagblo-blog.
