Yes, I was there in World Youth Day 1995 in Manila and it was an awesome experience. in 1995, there were no cellphones, no internet, no digital cameras. But I was able to document some of our activities from January 10 to 15. It was a somewhat memorable week for me and for the rest of the WYD 95 delegates because these were the times that we were really called by the Pope to respond to the call of the Lord to serve. Those world youth days were an experience one cannot seem to express in words nor interpret in verbatim. It is an event where the abstract became concrete but nevertheless fell short of words to describe the awesome and fantastic jubilation and happiness we felt as part of the official pool of delegates of our Archdiocese.

nagcamp-out din kami sa luneta and when it was all over, walked home from luneta to our old sampaloc home.

hi good day im one of the delegates of WYD in Manila last jan1995 its so very surprising/fortunate moment na nakita ko si papa john paul II kaso lang nasa malayo rin kami.
marami rin akong mga souviner na itinago gusto rin maipakita sa kaiisa kong anak na mag 8yrs. old na ngayun.
so ngayun july2008 naman sa sydney sana nanduon rin ako sayang by the way my little angel nanaman yung gawin kung delegates by next WYD kung saan paglaki nya i hope so to pray the almighty jesus ……..thnx to all blessed filipino delegates who attend WORLD YOUTH DAY in happens…… thnx jesus
haha kami nga nasa may kalabaw ata eh LOL. YUng bakod namin ang sinira ng mga tao kaya di na kami nakapag vigil. sa totoo lang dapat talaga yung bakod ay ginawang bakal kasi di nakapagenjoy yung mga youth at pinasoksila ng lokals

Hello dennis, its nice to hear from a fellow alumni of WYD. Ako naman nakita ko sya just one or 2 meters away from his pope mobile. For the first time I cried in public. I don’t know what’s got into me since I was never swayed by other people’s emotions
wow. After some more years our sons and daughters will look back at our experiences. ako din yung mga niece at pamangkin ko iintroduce ko na sa world youth day after they turn 16

@Jeff – Hehe senti Mode kapatid. Musta na? Musta na kayo ni Ate Neneth. Long Time No See. Galing ka don, di mo man lang ako minessage sa Friendster hehe. We moved already. We now live on a farm. We left our old place in the city since we were only renting it. It was only my dad who doesn’t want us to move. But in 2004 my parents decided to build our own house on a property which my parents acquired a few decades ago. Kaya andito na kami ngayon sa bukid and I love it. The PLace is quiet. I seldom go to downtown na because of the fresh air here.

andyan din ako. batang bata pa ako nun. kaya medyo onti lng naaalala ko but the filling is still alive. nakaka inggit, onti nlng ung nakatago skin na gmit noon. hndi ko narin maalala kung may akong pin nun hehehe. sure ako meron ako nung id lace, ung id syempre, ung bracelet at ung coin.
Then 2008 came. WYD ulit!!!!! hehehe. this time even ung tatoo nila hndi ko ginamit. hehehe.
but i guess the important memorabilya para sa atin ay ung mismong WYD experience. the songs, the people, the love, the faith, the peace, the happiness. and the most important of them all is the message of the father to the youth.
lets go forth and re-live the messages and lets evangelize! See you soon. WYD SPAIN here we come!

sobrang honored ako nun to participate this once in a lifetime event in our country…our school from quezon provice was invited then to perform during the last day of stay of our pope here in manila… im one of the member of rondalla actually who joined the other popular choire’s and orchestra’s in manila… at hindi ko malilimutan yung feeling na maiiyak ka na lang habang tinitingnan ko c pope sa last mass nya sa quirino grandstand…ang swerte swerte ko to be one of the delegates of world youth day here in manila (1995)

nice pictures kapatid, isa ako sa mga members nung committee ng CBCP na tumulong sa pag organize at control sa harapan ng stage duon mismo sa Quirino Grand Stand, i was hoping to see more pictures over the net. Its so nice people still remember and cherish the memories and spirituality of that event, sayang lang di na nakabalik si Pope John Paul para sa pag celebrate ulit ng World youth day sa pinas.
