I have a new idol! It’s not Steve Perry, it’s not Freddy Mercury nor my favorite Little River Band lead singer John Farnham, It’s Arnel Pineda. Arnel Pineda, lead vocalist of the rag tag band The Zoo, is one of those Youtube hit makers that was recently discovered. It was an accidental luck when the band uploaded their performance on youtube and like most of the home made production stars, Pineda’s band attracted followers of their own. When I saw his vid I really thought he was lip-synching one of Steve Perry’s classic. But it was for real. This performance of his was actually found by a band member of the journey and contacted him immediately if he was interested in being the lead vocalist of the band which he used to cover their songs. CNN featured his success and his Cinderella story while Ellen De Generes also took notice of him in her March 27 episode and was invited to be her guest on the Show.
