Bingo: Abalos rants about “Ham-ber-jher”
Lawyer for former Comelec Chairman Benjamin Abalos made a surprising rant on Sunday and complained that his client’s side should be heard. Now let’s make a fast track rewind of the scam. Didn’t he and his client already gabbled on National TV several times? As if two press conferences, one ABS-CBN TV debate, his grandson’s 2 minutes of fame and a litany of lamentations about the infamous “Ham-ber-jher” of Abalos was not enough to satisfy their craving for approval. Gluttony? Panelo criticized schools for inviting Lozada to speak to students without asking to hear Abalos? side. That’s very true, I agree. But the problem is, who would anyone in the Academe in their right mind invite him and his client for a speaking engagement? I doubt it. Even if Abalos would just argue his way with tons of receipts claiming that Lozada did eat his “special recipe” of Bur-jher in her daughter’s canteen, and convince everyone as hard as he can that he never received any women from the ZTE henchmen, still the students will have no more ear for another lie. The most fascinating of it all is not the criticism by the mules behind, but his client’s jealousy of Lozada’s growing popularity among students and educators. Hmmm envy and pride! According to Panelo, various universities and colleges should also invite them for a forum with students so that Abalos’ side maybe heard. Invite yourself ba? Whatever happened to free will and the right to choose?
This is the thickest form of self invitation that one has ever heard. Why, even gate crashers would be embarrassed by Atty. Panelo’s retort. If that’s the case, I think people should stop celebrating birthdays, weddings and anniversaries or better yet, just celebrate an occasion under the catacombs of Rome. There is really no point in arguing with inanity. Teka, let us enumerate: Greed, Lust, Gluttony, Anger, Envy and Pride… Manong isa na lang Bingo! ka na. I think Chairman Abalos would also like to utter the famous line of Sam Milby and Angel Locsin in the Centrum Multivitamins TV Ad, “I want to be complete…” Bingo!
