The Toyota van and his bachelor’s party

207

I have a batch mate who is now living in Virginia and who also told me this weird story during his Bachelor’s party. On the eve of his wedding, his family hosted a rehearsal dinner for the sponsors and the bride’s family. The party was formal, with all the black ties and the whole enchilada of fine dining. Foods were catered by the best caterer in Virginia and served by waiters in white aprons. While the guests were waiting for the food to be served. Armed men entered their house dressed in overhauls and were all wearing bonnets and masks. Of course, the guests were shocked and panicked until the leader of the armed men cried “Quiet or I’ll shoot”. The people were silenced until the father of my friend came forward and asked the men what they want.

The men said “we want your son”. My batch mate was so puzzled that he began to think of instances if there was ever a time that he stepped on others or made a terrible enemy at work or at school. Of course none, as what he had told me. Then the men dragged him out of the house and forced him to enter a Toyota Van. The van went away while the people screamed for help and called 911. Meanwhile in the van, the men laughed and removed their masks. They were my friend’s officemates who were dressed as robbers and tried to pull a prank on him. His officemates were not really carrying guns but water guns. My friend asked what was going on, and his friends, all eight of them told him that they are giving him a surprise bachelor’s party. My friend was so convinced of their prank that he even asked where they got the van because he is very familiar with their cars and all. His friends told him that its “migs” Toyota Van that was just purchased that day at New Toyota Leesburg VA. He was laughing and told the guys that they were in for a big trouble with his fiancée.

But before they even got to the place of the Bachelor’s party, a bunch of Police cars ordered them to pull over. My friend told the Police that it was big mistake because he knew his kidnappers and that it was only a practical joke. But the Police did not buy his alibi and so his friends ended up on jail. He soon bailed them and they never had their Bachelor’s party.

After my friend told me this story, I asked him: Wait a minute, is this one of the scenes from Phoebe Cate’s movie “date with an angel?” Hahaha Gotcha!

Bluep, you got me there. I was actually having doubts whether that was true. It just sounded so out of this world.

Ang dated ng movie choice mo ha… buhay pa ba si Phoebe?
