Survivor Philippines Episode 1 - The Jarakay won the first challenge

445

The castaways were taken into the offshores of the Island aboard a thai fishing vessel where they were met by dancing tribes in fluvial procession in small boats. The castaway were told that they will have an interview but actually it was the start of their 39 day adventure. They were as to jump on the vessel and swim towards the island. Emerson got a chest cramped midway while Kiko played hero for the Girls. Jace was the first one to reach the shore where host Paolo Bediones awaits them. Second to Jace was a surprise because it was Zita who came next. The group was now divided into two tribes, the Naak and the Jarakay tribes. It was also unexpected since the press release and according to wikipedia, the tribes were divided evenly. But much to the viewers’ surprise, the tribes were an all boys-all girls group, triggering a battle between the sexes.

though it seems its not fair since men are stronger than women, but the show will not separate the women from the men if the game has no advantages for the girl species.

The first challenge was an obstacle relay towards the spider’s web wherein they were chained together and later unchained after the keys were found. At the end of the challenge, a puzzle was waiting for them to piece together which eventually won by the male dominated Naak tribe. They won bamboo poles for their camp. The Naak tribe however lost and got the smaller campsite. But at the end of the episode, we can already see the ingenuity of women led by Zita wherein she taught the female castaways how to weave palm leaves to be used as their makeshift tent.
