My mom has a subordinate in the office who we call Belinda and who happens to be our family friend. She almost got married if not for a certain experience that she had in the past week, which made her decide otherwise. He has a an online boyfriend named Capt. Wash. Like any typical online love story, they met in a dating site, which they both frequented. When they got familiar with each other and have maintained their relationship virtually and digitally for the past six months, they both decided to meet in Hong Kong. In short, Capt. Wash proposed to Belinda and Belinda said yes. When they were about to sleep, Belinda saw something in the man’s luggage.
She saw a pair of handcuffs, a whiplash and a bunch of leather straps and pants. She asked Capt. Wash what that for, Capt Wash said it’s for her. She would wear it when they make love since Capt. Wash has this crazy fetish about sadism. Belinda was shocked and she immediately returned the ring and boarded the earliest flight back home. When Capt. Washed asked Belinda why she stormed out and called off their engagement, she said they are not for each other and that they are not great together.
So what is the problem here? Obviously, Belinda and Capt. Wash both loved two different persons. Belinda wanted a respectful and descent man but Capt. Wash on the other hand wanted an adventurous and obviously “wild and raunchy” wife. They never knew until they met that they were not compatible to each other, just because they failed to recognize their common grounds, likes, and dislikes on certain online dating websites.
