I remember the episode of FRIENDS wherein Joey’s roomate (Claudia Schiffer) had to move out because of a rub with Monica and Chandler. So Joey has to find a new room mate in place or else he would pay for the rent all by himself. So he ran an add in the New York Times with the tag line “Wanted: single white female, non-smoking, non-ugly”. Well apparently in Big Cities like New York, apartments, sublets and room mates are the trend in real estate. This is because the cost of living in New York is so high that one needs to sublet or rent a room for their apartment in order to make both ends meet.
