Hail the mother este Father pala of all rumor mongers. Yes you read it right. Chris is the formidable and famous persona behind the blog Chuvachienes.com. This is the first time he publicly acknowledged his real appearance in the blogosphere after years of being elusive from the prying lens of the cameras. Actually this entry is one year in the making. I first asked Chuva for this series sometime last year on this very same month. A month after, he sent his photos together with his answer to my self-serving questions (haha). But seriously, Chris in real life is not a gossip girl in the making. He is so decent and professional that his big bosses can’t help but send him to errands as far as Europe and Asia aboard on a business class with all the perks and favor. Chris is actually an alumni of UST and being a Thomasino by heart, Chuva caught my respect for him, not just as a prolific blogger who is very well skilled in “right clicks” but also with his wits and uncanny tips to strengthen your blogging experience.

He is not only known to the world of blogs as someone who has an avatar with perfect abs but also his trademark utilization of the pronoun “we” in most of his entries which he uses to refer to himself. Just like my previous OTWOMD Fans, I met Chuva here on the blogosphere. At first he was a constant lurker, trying to avoid conversations with bloggers he do not know. Actually I almost called Cherrie Gil to give him a douse of water because I thought he was a snob to the infinite level of his elevated eyebrows. But to my surprise, as proven by experience, first impression do not last, for lo and behold, the snobbish Chuva who I thought once was, was not really a snob, but a very friendly, shy blogger who just stay in the sidelines during chaos, yet calls all her fairytale misfits like Cinderella and her forest animals to fight the battle for him in the blogosphere just to defend you. If you don’t know what I’m blabbering about, then better dig holes on Reyna Elena’s blog and you will see that Chuva is not only a Cheezmiz Queen but also friends to all Fairytale Characters ever told haha. Why even the feisty Janet and the citrus fruits of Tang, Mirinda and Royal True Orange was no match for his minions in the land of the ever after.
Aside from blogging, Chris by day, and Chuva by night is actually a no nonsense entrepreneur. His earnings to date from his different blogs can actually build a two-storey building here in the Philippines. His skill in stalking rumors surpasses that of Malen that even controversial figures in the blogosphere are scratching their heads on how the heck did he know all of the skeletons in their closets haha. Resourceful? Wide reader? hindi.. tsismoso lang talaga haha. Kidding aside, it is an honor for the author of OTWOMD to feature him in this blog. Actually this post is so special that it took me one year to finally post his very first public photo appearance in the blogosphere. I always postpone this post thinking that it needed more suspense, thrill and excitement to really know the face behind Chuva Chienes. To tell you the truth, he is the long lost cousin of the Stars Wars character Chewbacca. He was a wookie on their planet, and has the name Chuvaka. But because he wanted to be human in order to mimic the classic Britney Spears photo (see below), he was banished from the wookie kingdom and as a consequence, the wookies shaved all of his body hairs, not even sparing his hair on his head haha.

Chuvaka as I adoringly calls him is one of my bosses here in the blogosphere. My respect for him (despite his naughty poses on pics which makes me want to hurl) is so high and mighty that I wanted to establish my own fans club for him and create a loveteam for him opposite Reyna Elena hahaha. He is a very dear friend, a very dear brother (oftentimes sister) from the order of St. Francis and a very dear ally that I truly treasure, in and out of the blogosphere, regardless of what he is and who he is. I always sought the advice of Chuva in matters of business and public relations. Actually I learned a lot from this guy when it comes to views on spiritual matters and forgiveness. He may be queer, but he is definitely a man when it comes to dedication, loyalty and risk taking (wag lang magpopost ng scandal haha). You might be wondering why the background music is “Hey Jay” of the Eraserheads? Well you have to find out on the last part of the last chorus… Its not so much about the lyrics but the last phrase on the last chorus will give you an idea who Chuvachienes really is and why he morphs into Ms. Hyde from being Dr. Jeckyl. My Ode to your kind and to your people, and the way you really twist Ambo’s, KK’s and my mind once you speak the third language together with Malen, Pusa and Reynz! Hail to the unisex nobility of eavesdropping and making money online!!! My Heartfelt salute and gratitude to you for your support on OTWOMD despite your very hectic schedule and academic priorities. Tell us a little bit of history of your blog and blogging… when did it start, how and why?

I was one of the lurkers at ReynaElena.com. I wasn’t new to blogging since I started a blog way back in 2006 when I saw the blog of Heath Dieckert. He inspired me because like your blog, it awakened my faith and my responsibility as a Christian and I wanted to share my life with the world hoping that I could inspire someone else as well. But Reyna pushed me to start blogging again. Since I am an entrepreneur myself (Power Seller on Ebay, and I have my online store, Rainbowreels.com) I found out that you can make money from blogging through Google’s Adsense program. I decided to open a new blog dedicated to my desire to work in the media.

Tell us about the main theme (not the design) of your blog, what mostly do you blog and why did you decide to have that kind of theme (niche).

The main theme is really about Pinoy and Hollywood Celebrities. I usually obtain content from different tabloid sources all over the world and provide credit to the source. I also provide advice to newbies who want to earn money while blogging since my experience has brought me quite a good income from blogging. I turned to celebrities because I needed traffic. Once, I blogged about KC Concepcion and my traffic skyrocketed to unbelievable heights. Then, I blogged about the separation of Ruffa Gutierrez and Ylmas Bektas - my traffic exceeded expectations. This wass when I decided to remain a Celebrity blogger.

Where do you mostly blog (home or work) and how much time do you spent in blogging

I spend at least an hour a day, blogging. I spend probably 3 to 4 hours blog surfing. I want to know what other people are talking about in their blogs. I also look for hot subjects that could increase traffic as well. Once in a while, when reality hits me and I want to share it with my readers, I do blog personal situations like my break up with my boyfriend, or the death of my pet Simba. It’s a way to release anger or sadness and share joy and happiness with my readers.

What do you mostly get in blogging (either finanacial or personal fulfillment).

I get personal fulfillment through the personal friendships I discovered while blogging. I am friends with many bloggers all over the world and it’s a great feeling to know that you can have friends even if you haven’t met them face-to-face. I get another type of fulfillment and that is the financial aspect. I would say that I have been semi-successful in obtaining extra income from blogging. It’s more work than what I get from it financially but this is really just icing on the cake. I am satisfied with the attention that my blog gets today.

How does your blog help you in your everyday life, maturity as a person and human being.

It helps me deal with personal issues. When I feel something, I write it down. It’s like a ‘dear diary’ therapy for me. The only difference is, the world can see it. I receive the praise of other bloggers and readers who have become my friends as well.

What are the things you need to learn or improve in your blog habit.

I think I need to improve the content of my blog. I want to be a celebrity blogger but being outside of the Philippines, it’s hard to find content that is hot and fresh. I usually get hold of the fact after the fact. But I still manage to be on top of it once I know it has caught some kind of attention. I want to know how to aggregate information so that I don’t have to update my blog daily. My blog require constant (daily) updates so that the news is received while it’s brewing. I just want to put more personal touches to it than retrieving content from other sites. I would like to be my own ‘media’ if you know what I mean. I would like to personally interview celebrities and get their opinions. I would like to be able to attend ‘red carpet’ celebrations. I know, it’s a dream but I want it.

When and where did you find out OTWOMD?

I stumbled upon OTWOMD at Reyna Elena’s site. Bluepanjeet is a constant commenter at Reyna’s blog. I happened to see his icon on the myblog log and clicked through. I was surprised with the content and setup of OTWOMD, on how organized it is and the power of the message that it delivers. I was hooked from then on.

What is your first impression of OTWOMD?

I really loved the content of OTWOMD. I am not quite the multi tasker when I read so I really read only when everything is quiet around me. I thought the music was distracting while I was reading the content which is filled with wisdom and depth. So, every time I visit OTWOMD, I have to put the music on pause so I can read the content without getting distracted. It doesn’t bother me that I have to do that because apparently, there are people who like reading while music is playing. I am just not.

When did you start to comment on OTWOMD? is it awkward to comment at first? if yes, why?

I think I saw the ‘Father Wound‘ entry. I was touched by it but I didn’t comment right away. I couldn’t exactly remember when I started commenting but I finally did at one point or another. It was due to my own relationship with my father that the post caught my eye. It was a very touching entry.

What is the reason why you like/love reading OTWOMD?

I love reading OTWOMD because it is a mirror for me. A reflection on what I had gone through and what I’m currently going through. There were instances that I have forgotten my faith and at one point, reading a line of two from OTWOMD, I get reconnected back to what I’m SUPPOSED to do and what I WANT to do. It’s a good feeling to read something that would constantly remind me that I’m not here without a purpose. It is the one thing that makes me come back and read the entries.

What is your most favorite part/section/feature of OTWOMD?

The media interactives and the ‘Museo‘ are my favorites.

If bluepanjeet would be a plant, animal, or things, what would he be for you and why?.

I think he would be ‘Spring Season’ for me. He brings back everything to life. The faith that I had was sleeping so silently and he has awoken it like the leaves and flowers in the spring. It is refreshing to know that there is someone out there just like me, trying to make it everyday and tackle all the common and simple temptations of daily life. It makes me feel that I’m not alone in my struggles and that we both, together can support each other in time of need and uncertainty

Lastly, if you can sum up OTWOMD in one sentence, what would it be?

OTWOMD ROCKS!!

Do you still have dreams to fulfill? if you do, what is/are your greatest dream/s?

I still have one dream in the process right now - to get my Bachelor’s degree. I am a few credits shy (well, a LOT credits shy) from getting my degree. It is something that I want to have before I die. Another wish is to have all my family in one continent. I still have one brother in the Philippines and several nephews and nieces including in-laws. It is my dream that one day, we’ll all be together here in the U.S. I also want to be able to be financially free and help my family as well as others fulfill their dreams and create bright futures for themselves.
