WORLD YOUTH DAY - JORNADA MUNDIAL DELA JUVENTUD - GIORNATA MONDIALE DELLA GIOVENTU - JOURNEE MONDIALE DE LA JEUNESSE - JORNADA MUNDIAL DA JUVENTUDE - WELTJUGENDTAG
Hola! Es oficial, Madrid sera la sede de la proxima Jornada Mundial de la Juventud en 2011. At the concluding mass wherein Pope Benedict XVI blurted out the words “I Look forwaed in seeing you in 3 years time, The next world youth day in 2011 will be in Madrid, Spain”. Joyful Pilgrims from Spain jumped and cheered as they heard the announcement. Spain will host the World Youth Day for the second time and this time in Madrid. The First Spanish WYD was held in Santiago de Compostela back in 1989. Felicidades a nuestros hermanos y hermanas en España. Nos vemos en 2011 en Madrid. Esperamos poder estar unidos con los plantadores de nuestra fe filipino!!! - OTWOMD

So, I guess the alternating between Europe and non-Europe continues. I remember earlier you talked about how you hoped it would be in Brazil or SK and I thought your reasoning was good. However, one good thing is this: there is a fairly large Nigerian Catholic community and geographically, this is probably the closest place to Nigeria it could safely be held, about the same distance as Brazil.
Maybe Brazil will get its chance in 2014. Logically, that would make the most sense. If you’re going to do non-Europe it would probably be between South Korea, Brazil, and the U.S.

How I wish WYD will also be taken to Africa. I always have this concept in my mind that WYD is fueled and driven by sharing and communal generosity. Why not celebrate WYD in countries that are hungry for the presence of the church, then the expenses would be split among the rich nations. We would really touch lives if it will be celebrated in poor countries like nigeria, east timor or in a latin american country.
I didn’t know Al that Nigeria has a large catholic community. thanks for that info

haha wala pa nga ako tulog haha. salamat naman at last day ko na to sa coverage. Now its back to normal, I will have enough sleep, but I will really miss the correspondence I had with pilgrims who are actually there in sydney.Sa Madrid uli parekoy in three years time!

oo nga… yung spanish teacher ko before na tubong Madrid grabe kung makapagsalita.. para bang binawalan magsalita ng ilang years tapos nung pinayagan na magsalita, nagkalat na lahat ng klaseng ingay ang maririnig mo… hehehe! pero in fairness, mahaba ang pasensya nya samin ng best friend ko.

pare wala yun hehe. Alam mo naman ang culture nating mga sems, kahit di kilala o di pa nakikita ang pamilya basta kamag-anak ng sem eh para na rin nating pamilya. That’s the only thing i can offer. Sabi kasi nila kung ano daw mahalaga sayo yun ang ibigay mo. since sobra halaga sa akin ng time ko, yung ang naisip ko na ibigay. Hope you and your pretty ate (naks) is doing fine. tell me if you’ll gonna post the pics coz I’m going to object haha not unless you’ll send them to me first to do some editing LOL.
