Nostalgia Ochenta
By bluepanjeet on Jul 2, 2008 in Featured, Nostalgia Ochenta

Have you ever wished becoming a child again? Those childhood memories that we still have are embedded in our very soul that oftentimes when we see familiar things that we once considered precious, we suddenly go into time machine mode and everything flashes back as if we are taken into our ride through the time warp of our personal histories. Every little toys, every TV programs, every brand of shoes and clothes, kinds of junk foods we ate and types of games we play when we were still young, gives back meaning into our lives as if we haven’t aged at all. Remember when we use to play “Patintero” in the middle of the street during brownouts? Or do you still recall that during Holy week all TV stations are showing the same religious program over and over again? Remember when Bazooka Bubble Gum is only 50 cents and cheezum is 1 peso, Champoy is 10 cents, and belekoy is singko? Going out during Saturday mornings is a no-no for you because from 7 am up to twelve noon you are stuck on the TV set watching Saturday fun machine cartoons in RPN 9 and uncle bobs lucky 7 club in GMA 7. These was the era we used to call the 80’s.
For this month of July, OTWOMD will launch its greatest serial feat ever: that is to bring back the childhood and teenage memories of the glorious days of the eighties (Yep I belong to this generation). Nostalgia Ochenta series will be launched as a separate category of OTWOMD to feature Music Videos, TV Shows & Movies (Yes you can watch them in full length here, trust me!
) Games, and everything about the eighties era that comes to our mind, which brings us back to where we all started.
I know what you are thinking —- “Hay naku wala na namang pang in-between sa ka pepe si bluepanget!” haha. But that’s not actually the reason I’ve been triggered by this nostalgic moments these past few weeks that I can’t help myself but to blog about the 80’s culture and show the younger generation of today the kind of era that we have then: There were no Internet, no Cellphones, no PSPs, No X-Box, No Computers and no other preoccupation except good ol’ eighties fun.
We will also have a very special OTWOMD Fan feature this month which will surely make you jump off your seat (Abangan ang mega pasabog!) and a surprise Seminarian who will share us his never before heard vocation story on The Voice series. OTWOMD will also introduce Sor Dama Sue, Brother Stelo Mael and Padre Poverello who will start answering questions from our readers regarding faith, hope and love in their respective series. Plus OTWOMD’s Coverage of the 2008 World Youth day in Sydney Australia this coming July 15-20 will commence. So stick around for this very exciting month full of faith, memories, humor and Irony.
Nostalgia Ochenta will also be accompanied by Mini-Series, (a section of OTWOMD that features full length movies) wherein you can watch again the movies that we hold dear during the 80’s. Maratoon (A section dedicated in uploading full length Cartoon episodes of our favorite Cartoon shows) will also feature full episodes of some of your favorite 80’s Cartoons and Blue Seal (which features favorite music videos of me of course) will once again resurrect those seemingly forgotten music videos from the new wave and punk rock era of the eighties.
So Join with me this coming July as we journey back in time, reminiscing the wonderful world este the six million dollar, este bionic era of the Knight-riders of the 80’s.
Hasta La Vista Baby!
