The Lamp

I was in a department store yesterday and was looking for a good lamp because my old one almost caught fire due to faulty wirings. So I have to replace it since I am more enthused studying when my books are illuminated by lamps instead of my very bright bedroom light. As I was looking around, the salesman approached me and asked me what I was looking for. I then told him that I was searching for a rustic style lamp. He asked me if it was a gift for someone else, I told him no, its for myself. He then said to me, “Sir I got one for you, I’ll just get it”. I was puzzled why the salesman went to the decor section instead of going to the electronics section. Then he came back with this shoe size box and showed me the lamp. I was laughing in my head when he pulled out the content of the box…
The box contained bronze rustic Alladin’s lamp haha. I was laughing inside my head and told him, I’ll just look for something else. But he insisted that I tell him what I was looking for. So I said I was searching for lamps that I saw in Farreys.com particularly table lamps, floor lamps, task lamps, reading lamps, piano lamps and torchieres. I added that the lamps that I was looking for a branded lamps that can be seen online which are featured on the site that are categorized according to lamp brand, lamp application or lamp style He told me that they don’t have anything like that. It figures, so I ended up telling the Salesman that I would instead buy lamps online than waste my time canvassing in a mall and finding Aladdin’s lamp instead of the real ones. The ending? No commission for the salesman LOL
