Let there be Lights!

Ever since we had this home for ourselves (me and my family), I became fascinated with home improvement stuff. You know what I mean… furnitures, home garden, garage, kitchen, bathroom fixtures and of course lighting fixtures. Most of the cabinets, doors and windows in my room are of my own design. I just sketched what I wanted, explained everything to the foreman and the last thing I knew, my cabinet is already finished. The Cabinet and the closet took only 5 days to finish. Yet as complete as my room seem to be, It still lacks lighting. The electrician left a connecting wire dangling on the ceiling of my room and said that in case I needed an additional lighting for my cabinet and the rest of the bedroom, I can always connect it to the main wire, whatever that means.
Actually he is right, I’m planning to put some additional lights in my bed room so that it will not betoo bright or too glaring for my eyes (my room is presently lit with florescent lamps). My eyes is actually suffering from astigmatism and photo phobia that’s why too bright lights are a no-no for my bedroom. But what kind of light fixtures do I have in mind? Well I am thinking of putting up a set of under cabinet lighting so that my books on the shelf will be illuminated during the night. As for my mini office inside the bedroom, just above my work station, I’m planning to put some progress lighting, just like those mini pendant progress lights that I see in show rooms, to illuminate my table and my desk drawers. And finally, for the headboard of my huge bed, I will place a pair of vanity lighting on the two sides to accentuate the drama of my dim yet well lighted bedroom. Not so bad for a light fanatic eh? Well these are only of the few innovations and projects I am planning to work on this coming months. Hopefully by starting on my bedroom, I can also renovate the other rooms in the house including my very dark-tiled bathroom. Let’s wait and see.
