Hansel and Gretel: The bluepanjeet version
By bluepanjeet on Jun 10, 2008 in *Ideas Meets Improvements

Once upon a time, there was a poor family living in a certain forest village. Hansel and Gretel were fraternal twins brought up and raised alone by their Father who was known in the village as Blueskies. Their mother Skyflakes died while giving birth to both of them. So for many years they lived in the middle of the forest village with their father. The three of them composed the Rebisco Family. One day when Father Blueskies arrived home, he brought their new stepmother with him named Fita. Fita lived with them for some months. Until that one fateful day when Fita said to Blueskies that they could no longer feed the twins, so they have to leave the children in the middle of the forest in order to get lost. But Hansel heard the evil plan of their stepmother, so he and his sister concocted a counter plan. On the way to the forest, Hansel and Gretel secretly dropped chunks and bits of chocnut along the path. But eventually their step mother Fita saw what they were doing. She immediately picked up the crumbs that the twins dropped for trail and ate them all towards home.
Hansel and Gretel got lost in the woods. They were very hungry for all of the basket full of choknuts were already consumed as crumbs for the trail. Until on the very middle of the forest, there lie a very beautiful house. The house was so colorful and dazzling to the naked eye that one cannot resist its beauty. So the twins walked towards the house and upon inspection, they realized that it was made of cakes, cookies and other treats. They were ecstatic.
Hansel immediately took a bite of those delicious apple blossom crème cakes, chocolate lover’s crème cake, golden crème cake, lemon lover’s crème cake, fiesta crème cake, Louisiana crunch crème cake, and pineapple orange crème cake on the wall of the house. While Gretel plucked the doorknobs, windowsills, grills, rain gutters and waterspouts all made of mud pie cookies, sugar and cinnamon cookies, chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies and sugar cookies. Until an old witch came out of the house and said:
“So you like Laura’s delicacies eh?”
“Yes Madame, they are all delicious. Did you all made them?” asked the twins.
“Of course not! I ordered them from Laura’s House Bakery. You can order them online if you want. They offer wholesale and retail price plus they are baked on site on a daily basis that is why they taste fresh from the oven”.
“Oh that’s interesting. I hope you do not mind eating some of your pastries because we are so hungry. Our step mom ditched us so we have nowhere to go,”
Said Hansel. The witch grinned.
“Well I’ll give you all of these cakes and cookies if you’ll just do one favor for me”.
“What is it?”
asked Gretel.
“First you must go inside my oven and clean the soot and dust in it”.
“Okay, but first please eat with us because it would be nice if you will join us while we eat your delicious cookies”.
“Okay, I never ate them before, so what the heck”
agreed the witch who was only doing a favor for the twins to get them into the oven and cook them alive. The Witch munched her way through her ginger bread fence, her roof made of icing and flowers made from crinkles and brownies, until she fell on the ground and died.
“OMG What happened to her Hansel?”
cried Gretel.
“I don’t know Gretel. Look there is a nametag around her wrist. Let’s read it”.
Hansel struggled to decipher the words written on the blue tag on the witch’s wrist.
“What does it say Hansel?”
Gretel asked.
“Di……..Dia……….. Dia……….. Diab……………… DIABETIC”.
“What’s Diabetic?”
“I don’t know. Maybe a witch’s curse or something…”
And so Hansel and Gretel live and ate happily ever after.
Moral lesson: Try Laura’s Home Baked cookies and cakes… they are to die for!
